Pilgrim’s Kiss
(c)Kevin Fisher
I respect your imagination
But this time you've gone too far
Paid no attention to the limitations
Of the way things really are
You made up clouds and gave them silver linings
Well I hate to rain on your parade
But I never touched you like a man touches a woman
I never kissed you like a pilgrim kisses truth
I never pressed my lips against your fragile fingertips
I never let you play the fool
Your perfect image is losing its sheen
Now that your drama has turned to dust
You mistook kindness for a balcony scene
And now your play is about to bust
You built a stage and played your part upon it
But your lines were meant for someone else
CHORUS
Save your scenes for someone else
You caused your heartache by yourself
I'm not listening to what you're sayin'
Cause I don't want to know
You made up clouds and gave them silver linings
Well I hate to rain on your parade
CHORUS
CHORUS

My Father And Me

My Father And Me
(c)Kevin Fisher
Last time I saw my father we were sailing out on the sea
The currents that used to break us they rested patiently
The wind said that heaven was open
The clouds framed a whole in the sky
But never a word was spoken between my father and I
Then from out of the blue I said I love
And I meant it with all that I had
I was sorry the words came so seldom
Between this wayward son and his dad
And as I broke out in waves of emotion
I threw my father’s ashes out on the ocean
Out on the sea, out over the ocean, my father and me
The last time I saw my father he had done all that he could do
He worked like a fool to break even then decided that he was through
He suffered some outrageous fortune
And took a few on the chin
Now he’s standing at the gate of St. Peter dying to get in
Then from out of the blue I said I love
To the sun in the sky and the sea
To the sway and the sound of the water
I said watch my father for me
And as I broke out in waves of emotion
I threw my father’s ashes out on the ocean
Out on the sea, out over the ocean, my father and me
Oh, the wind and water took him home, my father is finally free to roam
Then from out of the blue I heard I love you
Son, I did the best that I could
I hope one day you’ll forgive me
I knew that I would
Broken by the waves of emotion
I watched my father’s ashes
Fall in the ocean, into the sea
Out over the ocean, my father and me

Jackie
(c)Kevin Fisher
Hey Jackie, the moon is a mandolin
And it’s playing a song for you
And the stars are a section of violins
With a melody simple and true
Hey now, we can join in on a bass trombone
Or tap on a bottle of beer
Oh Jackie, I wish you were here tonight
We’d sing and we’d dance and we’d play
There’s a whole in my heart that won’t disappear
‘Til after our wedding day
Oh, your memory is loud and it’s clear
Jackie, I wish you were here tonight
Hey Jackie, the devil is whispering
And he’s filling my head with doubt
And I know that I shouldn’t be listening
To the things that he’s talking about
‘Cause I’m frightened that I’ll end up living alone
But I’m hoping love’s stronger than fear
CHORUS
Follow me down to the edge of imagining
I promise I’ll follow you back
We’ll lift up our glasses to all of our blessings
And all of the things we lack
Hey now, we can join in on a bass trombone
Or tap on a bottle of beer
CHORUS

Weep Like A Willow
(c)Kevin Fisher
Of all the craftsmen that I could have been
The greatest is master of the violin
I’d play for the beggars, the banquets, the balls
In the foulest of weather, in the fairest of halls
But now these old fingers are covered with doubt
The passion still lingers but I can’t let it out
So I weep like a willow and burn like the sun
For every endeavor I never have done
Of all the champions a boxer I’d be
Who could bloody a nose and could buckle a knee
I’d waste every warrior from bottom to top
With a blitz to the belly and a smack on the chop
But fighting these shadows is my just dessert
For avoiding the pressure and hating the hurt
CHORUS
If I could do everything over again
I would let like keep pouring and never say when
But I’m much too old to have time as a friend
So I wait for the night to descend, over and over again
Of all the professions I could have professed
A doctor of letters would have suited me best
A bare headed, bespectacled banker of books
With a liberal mind and conservative looks
But my only glasses are lined up and full
Of the foamy ambitions we drank up at school
CHORUS

Stronger Than The Tide
(c)Kevin Fisher
She wants to live down by the sea
She wants to live there just with me
She says the wind has changed her mind
She found the things she had to find
My heart was broken now it's stronger than the tide
And I'll do anything to keep her by my side
We built a house that's right for three
My lady love the moon and me
She says there's music in the air
It doesn't matter if it's there
My heart was broken now it's stronger than the tide
And I'll do anything to keep her by my side
Oh then she says to me
Oh so lovingly
My heart was broken now it's stronger than the tide
And I'll do anything to keep you by my side
She wants to live down by the sea
She wants to live there just with me
She says the wind has changed her mind
She found the things she had to find
My heart was broken now it's stronger than the tide
And I'll do anything to keep her by my side
I'll do anything to keep her by my side
I'll do anything to keep her by my side

Garden Of Rodin
(c)Kevin Fisher
She takes his money he takes his time
Touching her where flesh and flame and heart and soul combine
Her silence turns to anger and anger turns to rage
As he throws her down in charcoal on a page
But in the garden of Rodin full of elegance and grace
There's a monumental memory of her body and her face
Her secrets and her sorrow in the roughness of his hands
Become images of angels in the garden of Rodin
She prays for mercy from her blessing and her curse
Like a blind man sees with fingers he reads her verse by verse
And in the stillness of her labor she wishes on the sky
That saw the end of every empire as it rose, fell and died
But in the garden of Rodin full of elegance and grace
There's a monumental memory of her body and her face
Her secrets and her sorrow in the roughness of his hands
Become images of angels in the garden of Rodin
All that's unwritten in stone is there for all to see
As broken pieces of a soul gone down in history
In the garden of Rodin full of elegance and grace
There's a monumental memory of her body and her face
Her secrets and her sorrow in the roughness of his hands
Become images of angels in the garden of Rodin

Fifty-Four Years
(c)Kevin Fisher
Fifty-four years ago when we were still young
And songs long forgotten had yet to be sung
We rushed to the alter, abandoned our fears
And fought for each other for fifty four years
And now that I hold you while you fade away
There’s nothing to offer and nothing to say
That hasn’t been said before through laughter and tears
Through living and loving you for fifty-four years
Fifty-four years ago we traded a vow
That we kept like a secret, though heaven knows how
There must have been hard times but now it appears
That we lived in perfection for fifty-four years
And now that I hold you while you fade away
There’s nothing to offer and nothing to say
That hasn’t been said before through laughter and tears
Through living and loving you for fifty-four years
Fifty-four years have all come to this
Ten thousand memories and one final kiss
And there’s no use in whispering in your lingering ears
‘Cause you know how I’ve loved you for fifty-four years
And now that I hold you while you fade away
There’s nothing to offer and nothing to say
That hasn’t been said before through laughter and tears
Through living and loving you for fifty-four years
And I just can’t take losing you after fifty-four-years?

Breaking Up
©Kevin Fisher
First you die a little
Then you raise yourself from the dead
Then you cry a little more
Over the confusing things you said
I love you, it's over
Baby I can't live like this
I need you, we're through
Can we end on last kiss
We're past the point of making up
It's over now we're breaking up
Then you see each other
How the heart can tumble and turn
Then you wish each other well
How the heat of memory burns
CHORUS
Breaking up is like changing one kind of pain for another
Breaking up is a lover's curse and the thing that's worse
Is you break up, but never break away

Give Your Hand
(c)Kevin Fisher
I never thought this day would ever come
If you had asked me back when we were young
But all that I could dream about last night
Was how beautiful you'll look today in white
All of my emotions I will hide behind a smile
And try to keep from crying as you walk down the aisle
And give your hand to him
As my whole world crashes in
Somebody stop preacher praying
Cause the words that he is saying
Are driving me out of my mind
You give your hand to him
There's been a thousand foolish things I've done
Still all of my regrets add up to one
Although I did the best that I could do
I lost the only love I ever knew
Now it's just a sentimental fading memory
The sun has hit the morn and everyone can see
CHORUS
I could scream and make stir
But I know I won't
Cause what I mean to say to her
Is baby, baby don't
CHORUS

The Amazing Moon

The Amazing Moon
(c)Kevin Fisher
They say that the moonlight caresses the tide
And raises it up like a lover
And causes the shoreline to feel like a bride
Under a sky blue cover
They say when the night is as bright as the day
Then gravity feels like a kiss
Well if that is the reason that I feel that way
Then baby, I’m certain there is
An amazing moon tonight
There’s an amazing moon tonight
There must a reason the planets collide
And stars travel faster than light
Some unwritten law that they all must abide
To stay at an unearthly height
Well I don’t know of celestial things
But if you want comment from me
There’s a clear explanation why my spirit sings
And only one thing it could be
An amazing moon tonight – Kicking up stardust
There’s an amazing moon tonight – Taming the sun
Thunder and lightning never could be
Half as astounding to me
As the amazing moon tonight
Well I don’t know of celestial things
But if you want comment from me
There’s a clear explanation why my spirit sings
And only one thing it could be
An amazing moon tonight – Kicking up stardust
There’s an amazing moon tonight – Taming the sun
Thunder and lightning never could be
Half as astounding to me
As the amazing moon tonight

Naked To The World Los Angeles, California
We tried to break up. But there must be some quantum time-shift or random wormhole that forces us to slide back into perpetual existence. We started in 1993, garnered some accolades, released 5 CDs, toured the U.S., had our songs cut by major artists, and garnered a bit of commercial airplay ourselves. We are grateful for everyone who has ever come to one of our shows and enjoyed our music. ... more
